We chose 65 Degrees North as one of our charities in 2023.

65 Degrees North seeks to help in the rehabilitation of wounded, injured or sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans by offering the opportunity to participate in challenging adventure. By changing the perception of physical and mental disability through the ‘Spirit of Adventure’ we aim to inspire and motivate others to overcome, achieve and succeed.

Major Aston Woodward, Chairman of the charity spoke of the impact that The Breeze Club’s donation has had. “We received just over £22,000 from The Breeze Club in 2023 and this has enabled us to secure an expedition in September 2024 for our beneficiaries known as ‘Northern Odyssey’ due to the fact it will take place in Northumberland.

 The week will involve, Coasteering, Climbing, Bushcraft, Canoe expedition with wild camping amongst other activities. Whilst this will be a lesser challenging expedition by comparison to some of our historic activities our focus will be on beneficiaries with challenging mental health issues. We have for the first time included a mindfulness session in our programme.

As a result, The Breeze Club funds have enabled 10 beneficiaries comprising of both serving military and veterans to undertake this week. We are very grateful for The Breeze Club’s support.”
